11. Dallas Mavericks

I don’t think that the Mavs will contend for a playoff spot this year but their future looks very bright with Dennis Smith Jr. and Luka Doncic. They also finally got Deandre Jordan but he will have to wait at least one more season before going back to the postseason. Doncic will have a good rookie year and he is my pick for the Rookie of the Year.

12. Phoenix Suns

Even after just firing their GM Ryan McDonough, the Suns still aren’t quite there to contend. They have a high ceiling with their “Big 3” in Devin Booker, Josh Jackson, and DeAndre Ayton. Booker is an undisputed star in this league and will continue to grow as he is only 21 years old. Jackson has so much room to grow and looked really good on defense last season and if he can develop a shot that can cause trouble. I think Ayton will have a decent rookie season but still has to get used to the game in the NBA.

13. Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers have one of the most intriguing players in the NBA with Boban Marjanovic. The 7 foot- 3-inch beast can grab the rim on his tiptoes. It’s the rest of the team that will not meet expectations. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will have a lot of time this year to grow and will be the future of this team. I also think that Doc Rivers will not survive the season as head coach of the team.
