With Kevin Durant‘s free agency looming next summer, Golden State Warriors fans have to wonder how worried they should be if the rumors turn out to be a reality, and Durant leaves.

Rumors have been swirling about Kevin Durant‘s impending free agency. Since joining the Golden State Warriors, Durant’s future has been uncertain. There is no telling if he wants to remain in Oakland for the duration of his career.

On top of KD making his decision based on personal reasons, there are other factors that could come into play. For starters, Klay Thompson is also a free agent next summer.  Both Thompson and Durant are being actively hunted by the Lakers, among other teams.

Furthermore, Draymond Green is due for a big payday the summer after that. Green has proven to be worthy of a large contract and will expect nothing less.

As a result, the Warriors’ core four All-Stars may not be together for much longer. It would be nearly impossible to sign all four of these players to contracts that would leave them satisfied.

So what happens next?  What if KD leaves?  What would the team look like?  How should fans react? Let’s enter a hypothetical not-so-distant future and find out.
