The not-so-distant future

The Warriors win the 2019 championship.  They sleep-walk through the regular season, but Boogie’s presence halfway through the year gives them the spark they need.  They cruise the rest of the way and defeat the Celtics in six games to win the title.

They would have won four of the past five championships. They send off Oakland and Oracle Arena into the sunset.

DeMarcus Cousins enjoys his one season with the Warriors, but quickly bolts to greener pastures where he can get paid.

Durant’s one-and-one contract is now up.  He longs for a different storyline, a new challenge, and to get away from all of the criticism that comes with being a Warrior.

His big decision in the summer: KD leaves to go to the Lakers.

He gets numerous entertainment opportunities, such as the chance to enter the film industry, again.  He also gets to play with his good friend since 2011, LeBron James.  Along the way, he sheds the criticism he received for joining the Dubs and has a chance to restore one of the most storied franchises to their former glory.
