Conclusion

They will always look back fondly on the memories of a time when championships were the norm, and 73-win seasons were just another check-mark on the achievement list.  A time when a new NBA record was broken every few weeks.  A time when the roar of the fans inside the arena was as loud as the hope they had for the team that year.

Truth is, fans shouldn’t be worried at all.  They’ve enjoyed the golden age of Warriors’ basketball, and will likely never experience anything like it again.

So even if the core does break up, even if Durant leaves, even if championships aren’t the norm anymore, Warriors fans can always look back on this team, here and now, and remember when they, along with the Warriors, were at the top of the basketball world.

Fortunately for us, we’re still here.  Living in what will later be called the “good old times.”

So Warriors fans, there’s no need to be worried about the future.  If KD leaves, show the NBA world (and OKC) what it means to respect a player who’s given his all for you.

All we can do now is enjoy the ride for as long as they’ll take us on it, and know that when it ends, all will still be well.
