Klay’s bounce back

The Golden State Warriors are expected a big season from Klay. In a contract season expecting to showcase his max-contract value, Klay needs to have a great season in order to get paid.

Well, in game one, Klay was not impressive struggling from the field and really having a hard time getting his shot to go. 1-for-8 from three was not the start to the season that Klay was hoping for. He managed just 14 points on 20 shots.

Klay had just one game that was worse than that last season. One single game in all 82 that Klay shot 25% or worse and attempt over 20 shots, so this is clearly not a trend for Klay. He does, however, need to show that the rust is off and that he can thrive in the new season.

Draymond is in the same boat too. He struggled in game one and will quickly be in a contract year as his new and hopefully max contract will come during the 2020 offseason. Either way, two of the Dubs core four struggled, and it wasn’t a great start.

Next. 4 players that could make or break the Warriors season. dark

The Dubs are the league’s best team, and even when they struggle, they win. Moving forward, they need to be better, and this game will be the start of that uphill battle.
