No lead is safe for Curry and Durant

There are very few elite teams that have the mindset and capability to flip the switch and shift the momentum in your favor in the face of a double-digit deficit. Not many teams have two former MVPs in their prime in the starting lineup. The Golden State Warriors happen to have both of those.

Durant notched a near triple-double (38 pts, 9 reb, 7 ast) and Curry poured in 31 pts and 8 ast himself.

What’s telling here is that even if an opponent like the Jazz has a near perfect game all around, if Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry manage to have a solid game at least, the Warriors will undoubtedly be in a good position to come away victorious.

Steve Kerr and company should continue to look for getting his MVP duo good looks to keep them in rhythm. From tip-off, it was Durant who had the hot hand while Curry was still looking to find his shot, but the Warriors game plan to have Steph come off screens helped build his shooting momentum, and the game plan paid dividends.
