Everybody worries about Klay Thompson, but we shouldn’t. Whether he shaves his beard or not – don’t be concerned!

Klay Thompson has always been one of my favorite NBA players. Last year when I covered the All-Star game, I went right past LeBron James and Stephen Curry – I wanted to talk to Klay at the media availability (there was also at least a hundred people in front of the two captains, so the choice was easy)

But still – Klay has a certain lure. As the classic Seinfeld episode “The conversion”, where Kramer has “the kavorka” and Sister Roberta becomes smitten with him, I feel the same way about Klay.

He has the lure of the animal. The Kavorka!

So what about this shooting slump?

I think, everybody gets excited over nothing. Of course, I kind of understand it. No other All-Star has the same hole in their game. You don’t see LeBron, Curry, Durant, Harden or Kawhi mess around for that long. But this laid-back dude from LA takes his time every season – and I love it!

For those that are worried, Klay, although he’s made just three triples in four games, will snap out of it. He’s scored 20+ points per game in four straight seasons. Do we actually think a four-game slump will change his proven dominance?

Why?

Because I know, that no matter how bad it looks for Klay, he comes flying back at a certain point. He has a  timing, and his slumps never get in the way of the important stuff, the postseason.

He delivers defensively, and we settle for that with Draymond, don’t we?

Klay has his own way of cruising on this team, and everybody knows he’ll show up for the playoffs. So leave him be! He’s gathering his strength for important stuff right now, and he has decided that he wants a beard. So that’s the project now.

Klay will chill, grow the beard to perfection and then show up for some basketball whenever he’s really needed.

For me and my ridiculous Klay crush…well…I’ll advice him to buy various foul-smelling foods and wear them. Pure Kramer style! Or else the Kavorka will eventually get to me. Slump or not!
