Shattering NBA records is something that Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have become accustomed to.

Since his emergence as an NBA star, Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have been having historic seasons. The franchise has experienced one of the greatest four-year stretches in the history of the league and Curry has been a major reason for it.

Steph has entered his name into the record books a number of different times. Curry first broke the NBA all-time record for most 3-pointers in a single season back in his 2012-13 campaign when he knocked down 272 3-pointers. Six seasons later, Curry has broken this record three separate times and holds four spots in the top 5.

Curry’s best season was his 2015-16 MVP year when he broke numerous all-time records. Curry became the first player to make over 400 3-pointers in a single season. Before then, no other player had even reached the 300 mark. Furthermore, Curry was the first player to average 30 points while shooting in the 50/40/90 club.

As a result of his insane play, Curry won the first ever unanimous MVP award and led the Warriors to an all-time high 73 wins in the regular season. With such a superb outing, it’s hard to believe he could have a season better than this one.

Well, through four games, Curry is on pace to blow the 2015-16 season into the dust. As of now, Curry is averaging a career-high 30.5 points on career bests shooting splits of 52.8 percent from the field and 48.6 percent from the 3-point line. Above all else, he is hitting an average of 5.5 3-pointers a game, setting him on pace to finish the year with 451 total 3-pointers.

This would obviously shatter all of the records that Steph set in the 2015-16 season, outside of the team’s win record. This season is somehow on pace to be better than the season that everyone thought was the greatest individual year of all-time.

Finishing the season with another MVP award and a third straight NBA championship would make a great argument for Curry to be the greatest point guard of all-time. If he also captured his first ever Finals MVP award, it would cap off a truly amazing season.
