5 free agents the Golden State Warriors can still sign
Corey Brewer
The last few seasons haven’t gone as well as Corey Brewer might’ve wished, but he’s still capable of balling. After playing 18 games and starting 16 with the Oklahoma City Thunder last season, Brewer has failed to find a new NBA home.
He was even scoring at a solid rating, averaging 10.1 per game. In OKC, he had a phenomenal +16 net rating. An impactful player, Brewer was a helpful player for an OKC team that struggled to score at moments last season.
Only with one ring under his belt, the Golden State Warriors could use a versatile talent like Brewer. Although he plays a very similar role to Andre Iguodala, it might not be a bad play to bring in an insurance policy on the often-injury Iggy.
Following Andre Roberson season-ending injury, Brewer got the chance to start through the postseason. After six games, Brewer proved with his 8.8 points per game that, at the highest level, he can still be effective.
That should be enough for Golden State to request the presence of the NBA veteran. Additionally, Brewer made just 340k while in Oklahoma City, so money shouldn’t an issue for Brewer. With the veteran’s minimum, he’d actually be looking at significantly more than just 340k as well.
