Jared Dudley

Another solid second unit option, Jared Dudley has been having a solid season in Brooklyn. After a quiet year in Phoenix, Dudley signed with Brooklyn in hopes to jump spark a dying career. That he’s managed to do.

More from Blue Man Hoop

Dudley has averaged 6.3 points per game which including 40.9% from three-point range. In 26 minutes of action, Dudley has surprisingly been a nice go-to scoring option for Brooklyn’s second unit.

For Dudley, he’ll be more of a buyout target than a trade target. He’s making over nine million a season and is in the last season of his contract. However, it’d be unlikely he’d receive a buyout if the Nets are any where close to a postseason spot.

He has all the characteristics of a player that might thrive alongside Curry and Durant. The 11-year veteran is certainly going to be on the radar again come buyout season, especially if the Dubs still have a roster spot open then.

As far as a trade goes, if it were to happen Andre Iguodala would have to send packing. Making 15+ million, the Dubs would be forced to trade Iggy if they have any desire to retain both Durant and Thompson this summer.

That’s certainly an option for Golden State, just a rather unlikely one.
