Wayne Ellington

The third straight sharpshooter on our list, Wayne Ellingotn, just like the other two, could bring a special new feel to the Warriors struggling second unit. Currently on the Heat, Ellington is a proven sniper from the University of North Carolina.

The Warriors second unit has made just 14 threes in their first seven games. Through seven games last season, Ellington was already almost at 14, notching 11 makes in his first seven.

While that doesn’t showcase too much about Ellington, it does prove just how pitiful the Dubs second unit has been from behind the arc. They need additional shooting, and Ellington, who is under a one-year, $6.27 million contract, could be their guy.

A trade like this might have to take place later in the season though. If the Miami Heat are in a place where they, like the Nets, can compete for a playoff spot, it’s unlikely they deal their role players. However, in a wild East, anything can happen.

Elite sharpshooters are hard to come by in the league, and Ellington, who made almost three triples per game last season, could certainly be one of them. He would bring a much-needed spark to the Dubs second unit.
