The Golden State Warriors wonderboy Stephen Curry has been electric to start the season, making more threes than the entire OKC Thunder.

Stephen Curry has made 55 threes this season. The OKC Thunder have totaled a mere 49 through six games. That said, the Dubs have played nine games to the Thunder’s six. So, while it’s an insane stat still, it doesn’t tell the whole story.

As for averages, Curry has averaged 6.1 threes per game. The league’s worst three-point shooting teams average 8.0, 8.2 and 8.3 per game. In respective order, those three teams are the Cleveland Cavaliers, OKC Thunder and Denver Nuggets.

Efficiency-wise, Stephen Curry is better than any team and any player to shoot volume threes. He could be the league’s first player to ever shoot 50% from the field and from deep while shooting over 90% from the free throw line.

Curry has easily been the league’s early-season MVP. He’s scoring at the league’s highest level and is the only player to average over 32 points per game. Kemba Walker is the only other player to even average over 30 points per game.

However, he’s not just a scoring machine. Curry’s also a top-30 player in assists per game as well. He’s been capable of doing it all this season. Almost a top-100 rebounder as well, Curry’s been able to lead the Dubs to one of the league’s best records.

He’s also capable of taking the foot off the gas.

Against the Bulls, he scored 23 points in the first half and decided he’d help splash bro, Klay Thompson, chase the NBA record for 3s in a single game. After notching 14 threes against the Bulls, both Curry and Klay took a seat for the night, already having a 42-point lead at the half.

Curry could easily have more triples this season, but both Curry and Kerr have taken their foot off the gas in a few games. That’s the way of the Warriors though. They’re so good, it hurts their individual stats.

However, so far, Curry’s individual stats seem just fine, and moving forward, if he keeps it up, he could be looking at his third MVP award. Will he keep it up is the main question though.
