Golden State Warriors: Player grades for the month of October
By Tony Pesta
The big man, Damian Jones, has been a pleasant surprise for the Golden State Warriors. Jones is a player who struggled to earn his role on an NBA roster. After years of hard work and bouncing back and forth between G-league teams, Jones has found a home in Golden State.
His first game with the Dubs was significant. As a starter for the first time in his career, Jones played 26 minutes, scored 12 points and blocked 3 shots. He played in small spurts but was highly effective, shooting 6-for-7 from the field.
Jones has started in each game this season and is averaging 6.0 points and 1.2 blocks a night. He has provided solid rim protection for the Dubs and finishes plays when he gets an opportunity too. Overall, he has been a consistent producer for the team.
