The Golden State Warriors will be challenged by the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at home on ESPN.
The East and the West haven’t had too many superstar showdowns yet. However, with the Golden State Warriors and Milwaukee Bucks, they’ll get just that. Two of the hottest teams in the NBA will be going head-to-head in what will be must-watch NBA action.
Ultimately, there are about ten games throughout the season where fans will almost certainly want to tune in. The Warriors against any top opponent like Toronto, Boston, Houston, LA, etc, and then matchups like LeBron vs Kyrie which will happen later this season.
Due to the nature of the schedule, the elite teams of the different conferences don’t mix too much. As a matter of fact, this will be one of just two games where the Bucks and Warriors play, and they’re both, without a doubt, on national television.
The Bucks have, to the surprise of many, kicked off this season hot.
They’ve been one of the best teams in the NBA, racking up eight wins in their first 10 games. Currently second in the East, the Bucks have seen their superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, continue to blossom into a legit MVP candidate.
Giannis’ averages, just like Curry’s, seem almost unsustainable. He’s scoring 25.8 points, securing 13.3 rebounds (career-high) and dishing out 5.9 assists (career-high) per game. Giannis and Curry along with Anthony Davis have clearly been the league’s early-season MVP favorites.
That’s why this game will be so enjoyable to watch and so heartbreaking to miss.
As for the Dubs, they might take this game just like every other. Playing their way, which means getting the ball to Durant and Curry with space, has been their bread-and-butter this season, allowing them to maintain the league’s most dynamic offense, scoring over 125 points per game.
They’ll most likely be without Draymond Green in this game. This could be another game where the impact of Draymond Green is shown. That said, this game could also allow Alfonzo McKinnie a chance to enter the limelight.
There several reasons to watch this game, but if the Dubs come out and don’t perform, let’s remember that it’s just a preseason game. The Warriors will, until dethroned, be the league’s clear favorite to reign supreme, and while these games are amazing to watch, let’s not put too much stock in them.
