The Golden State Warriors showed their human nature as two stars got into it following an overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Just when you thought the Golden State Warriors were just going to cruise to their third straight NBA Championship, you look down and see that two of their four stars were jawing at each other in what might’ve been the most intense moment in this dynasty’s short history.
It was Draymond Green and Kevin Durant that went at it following the overtime period against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.
After a hard-fought game, the Dubs, who are generally very solid in overtime due to their excess of talent, struggled, losing their third game of the season. A one-possession game at the end, Draymond Green’s decision-making was the ignitor of this incident.
Of course, this game would’ve probably not even neared an overtime period if Stephen Curry, who sat out his second consecutive game, had played. Albeit you can’t knock a guy for taking his recover serious, his on-court skill and leadership could’ve tamed the two.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc Spears, the post-game locker room was one of the most intense sights of the Warriors dynasty.

"After the 121-116 overtime loss to the LA Clippers, some witnesses described the closed-door exchange as one of the most intense of this Warriors era. No one had to be separated, no player left his seat and no hint of physicality loomed in the setting, sources said."
The Warriors are a world-class organization.
They’ve proven time and time again that they’ll be able to overcome any situation. This, however, will pose a threat that the Dubs have yet to encounter. Throughout their four consecutive Finals runs, they’ve yet to have real disputes within their organization.
In their attempt to handle that situation, the Dubs suspended Draymond Green for one game without pay. That game was last night’s battle with the Atlanta Hawks.
Green was suspended without pay, costing him around $100k. While a good chunk, if he can come back from his, mend his relationship with his teammates, and continue to transform the NBA’s power forward position, he could still request the max during the 2020 offseason.
All this arguing has done for the Warriors is show that they’re human and that they care about the regular season enough to take an early-season game seriously.
This shouldn’t shape the team moving forward, and I’m confident the veteran leadership along with Steve Kerr won’t let it.
