With the recent beef between Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, many are speculating that this could be the beginning of the end to the Golden State Warriors dynasty.

It is not uncommon for a few NBA players to butt heads every once in awhile. It’s also not rare for some of these feuds to take place within the same team. However, in the case of the Golden State Warriors, it is never good for two of your star players to have problems.

The beef between Kevin Durant and Draymond Green has escalated farther than anyone imagined it would. When Green recklessly lost the ball at the end of a game, many understood why Durant would be frustrated with his teammates decision. Rather than sweep it under the rug, KD confronted Green and since then all hell has broken loose.

Green quickly snapped back on Durant by challenging his loyalty to the team. Dray’s comments went far enough to earn himself a one-game suspension without pay. It has been reported that Green and Durant have still not spoken to each other since this altercation.

Of course, with KD’s looming free agency decision coming up this summer, people are starting to question if Durant will return to the Warriors or not. A number of small comments from Durant and his brother have led to a bigger rift being created between KD and the rest of the team.

While Klay Thompson has been quoted as saying he believes this will all blow over once the Warriors start winning more games, this is still a situation that the Dubs should travel through carefully.

The Warriors are chasing a three-peat, something that is extremely difficult to accomplish. No matter how selfless a team is, the overall team chemistry is always going to be sensitive. This rift between KD and Green will need to be resolved at some point or it will cost the franchise a championship.

Golden State must look back at dynasties from the past and realize that team accomplishments are more important than whatever feud has started between two teammates. The Dubs should analyze how Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant let their personal issues get in the way of potential championships.

The dynamic duo of Shaq and Kobe was one of the deadliest combinations the league had ever seen. It was nearly impossible to take these two down. After winning three consecutive NBA championships together, the only thing that managed to destroy this team was themselves.

Kobe and Shaq could not find a way to get over themselves and plagued their team chemistry by constantly feuding. Eventually, things boiled up to the point where they could not resolve their issues. As a result, O’Neal was traded away and the dynasty was over.

Had these two mega stars been able to work past their problems, there is no telling how many championships they could have won. Both Shaq and Kobe have expressed regret for the way they handled their time together.

Next. Did Draymond Green go too far?. dark

The Warriors do not want to look back at this time and regret letting a silly argument spoil their chances at history. Green in particular, will not want to let his ego get in the way of Durant returning to the Warriors next season.
