The Golden State Warriors need Stephen Curry in order to succeed, and that was on full display in their double-digit loss to the Houston Rockets.

If you didn’t believe it before, you saw it firsthand again. The Golden State Warriors main catalyst for success is Stephen Curry, and without him, they clearly lose a step offensively and even defensively.

With Stephen Curry, the Warriors are 10-2, and without him, they are a mediocre 2-2.

Here’s another one. With Curry, the Dubs are averaging over 122 points per game, and without, over ten fewer per game, not even hitting 110 per game. He’s important to their overall gameplan, and the Dubs just aren’t the same without him.

Can we expect them to be though? While we can expect them not to lose by 20+ to a struggling Rockets team, we can’t expect the same production without Curry on the floor, and I think that’s where many fans go wrong.

The Warriors are looking at being without Curry for potentially ten games. They really aren’t sure when his return will be, albeit he did travel with the team on their road trip to Houston. That’s one positive in a sea of negatives that have been the narrative for Golden State recently.

We are trying to dissect a team that’s playing without arguably their best player. The league’s only unanimous MVP was on track to shatter his own three-point record till this groin injury. For Curry, injuries have just become part of the grind of the regular season.

From the fan’s perspective, we have to just sit back and understand that no Curry is better than one that’s not 100%, especially during the regular season. However, we often times look at the struggling Dubs and are mind-boggled that they can’t play better.

Well, let’s repeat: They’re without their best player.

Yes, they took a beating as Draymond Green came back from his one-game suspension. But, as the team’s still nursing Curry’s injury, let’s not act like they have any blatant weaknesses at full strength.

2-2 over their last four, wait for Curry to get back before truly entering panic mode. Or, better yet, never enter panic mode because the Dubs are back-to-back champs and will figure it out.
