Los Angeles Clippers
Kevin Durant and Los Angeles just has a nice ring to it, and while the Lakers might clearly be the more ideal target, the Clippers could give more Durant more freedom and still offer him a max contract.
To many’s surprise, the Clippers have actually kicked the season off to a hot start as well.
They have the league’s third-highest scoring offense and currently are a top-three team in a deep Western Conference. They have gritty, defensive-minded players and excellent scorers which both contribute to the team’s success.
What does that mean to Durant? Well, that means he could come in and be the superstar that the Clippers need to take them to the next level. He’d be able to get the bulk of the late-game shots and have the ball in his hands when it matters most.
Durant joining the Clippers is a long shot, but they would seemingly have everything he would want. They can offer the long-term max contract, and they could give him the LA spotlight that most players crave.
However, the Clippers and the narrative factor don’t align. That’s why they come in at No. 5.
