New York Knicks
Headed out East for the first time in his career, the New York Knicks have been involved in the conversation for Kevin Durant. Playing in Madison Square Garden consistently with that New York atmosphere is almost enough recruiting in general.
However, the New York vibe isn’t the only reason why KD would go out East.
Kristaps Porzingis, Kevin Knox and an impressive group of young talent would also lure Durant. He would have a superstar in Porzingis that he could defer to at times to get a bucket, but he’d also likely have the chance to take over games down the stretch.
And, he’d be able to get into a conference which, for the most part, is not quite as deep. The bottom half of the East poses an array of easy games throughout the season.
Playing in the East and being able to play with a Knicks team full of young talent and likely to get another lottery pick is appealing. The Knicks have already been doing their part to recruit Durant, giving him MVP chants and an apartment-hanging poster to attract the Slim Reaper.
Will it work?
