The Golden State Warriors lost their fourth consecutive game last night against the OKC Thunder, marking their longest losing streak in over five years.
March 2013. The last time the Golden State Warriors lost four straight games. Steve Kerr wasn’t the coach, Steph Curry hadn’t won an MVP and the Warriors hadn’t been to the Finals in over 35 years.
That said, they took this fourth consecutive loss at the hand of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Behind 32 points from Dennis Schroder, the Thunder were able to rally and take a huge lead in the fourth quarter, eventually winning by 28 points.
Surprisingly, the Thunder out-assisted and out-shot the Warriors. Another huge factor in this game was the shots and offensive rebounds. The Thunder shot 23 more shots and secured 11 more offensive rebounds.
It’s effort. It’s desire.
Two things the Dubs haven’t shown over the last few weeks, and they’ll need the return of Stephen Curry to lighten the heavy load the current team is facing. In addition to Curry being out, the team granted Draymond Green time off to nurse his injured toe.

This losing streak comes after the Dubs almost imploded against the Los Angeles Clippers. After dropping that game in overtime, the Warriors won the game in which Green was suspended for. Green was suspended for his postgame altercation with teammate superstar Kevin Durant.
Following that game, the Warriors barely slid past the Atlanta Hawks, beating the Trae Young-led Hawks by seven.
They then took four straight losses, starting with a 21-point loss at the hand of the Houston Rockets. With San Antonio and Dallas both prior to OKC, the Dubs have not played up to par over the last few weeks.
While much of this poor play can be attributed to the absence of Steph Curry, a good chunk of it can also be showcased in the lack of chemistry throughout the team. Both defensively and offensively they looked out of sync in more than one of these games. As uncharastic as it sounds, in all four games, the Warriors were out-shot from behind the arc.
Without Curry, it’ll be difficult for Steve Kerr to correct the issues the Dubs currently face. On top of that, their upcoming schedule, with their next two games coming against the Blazers and Kings, doesn’t get much easier.
The Golden State Warriors have to figure their issues out, and it’ll start with the return of Stephen Curry.
