The Golden State Warriors have been struggling lately and Kevin Durant‘s 3-point shooting woes may be the cause.

As of late, the Golden State Warriors haven’t looked like the same team. We are used to seeing this squad dominate in the regular season and set records. Since adding Kevin Durant, the Warriors have won back-to-back NBA championships.

However, that championship culture has been lost over the course of the last four games. For the first time since Steve Kerr became the head coach, the Warriors have lost four consecutive games. Furthermore, they have lost these games by an average margin of 16 points.

Of course, the Warriors have plenty of excuses for their recent slump. For starters, Stephen Curry has been sidelined due to a groin injury. Curry has missed the last seven games and is set to miss at least three more before being evaluated.

Curry was averaging a team-high 29.5 points per game before being injured. His presence on the court is always valuable and the team is clearly missing his leadership.

On top of this, the Dubs have been dealing with quite a bit of controversy. We all know about Kevin Durant’s upcoming free agency and the beef between him and Draymond Green has only made the situation worse.

Now, the team is attempting to repair relationships during the midst of a tough stretch in their schedule. In most cases, the Warriors would be able to handle all of this controversy. The Dubs are completely stacked with All-Stars and should have no problem being competitive every night.

This has not been the case and Kevin Durant’s 3-point shooting is likely the reason behind the team’s struggles. During the last four games, Durant is shooting just 10.5 percent from the 3-point line. As a whole, KD is 2-of-19 in this stretch.

Durant has actually been shooting poorly from beyond the arc all season. In fact, he is shooting 31.5 percent from deep this season, making it his worst shooting season since his rookie year.

Next. Warriors looking for a much-needed win. dark

This lack of 3-point shooting from KD has been a huge reason for why the Dubs are losing games. If Durant can finally start knocking down his shots, this team will be in much better shape.
