Markieff Morris

The Washington Wizards, as previously mentioned, are in mayhem. John Wall and Bradley Beal are superstar talents but haven’t been the leaders the team needs to succeed. Eventually, something will have to happen and a full rebuild is certainly not out of the question.

Once considered the better of the two Morris brothers, Markieff has fallen victim to the Wizards dysfunctional franchise.

At his peak, Morris was a double-figure scorer. This season, he’s failed to average 10+ points per game for the first time in five years. He’s still got that gritty skillset in there, and his presence would be a huge addition to the second unit.

The addition of Morris and Oubre Jr. would rid the Dubs of Iggy’s contract, allowing for an extra $17 million in cap space for next season. And, riding themselves of a few picks, Iggy and Bell seem like a small total for two players that could make their second unit one of the league’s best.

This seems like it would be a win-win, but it’s doubtful Washington wouldn’t request more from the defending champs.
