Wayne Ellington

Last but not least, the Warriors could improve their personnel issues by trading for Wayne Ellington. An underrated sharpshooter from the University of North Carolina, Ellington has been electric from downtown this season, making 2.8 threes per game on almost 40% from deep.

The type of talent the second unit needs, Ellington’s ability to space the court would be paramount to getting the superstars easier shots. Durant, over the last four games, has shot over 60% of his shots while being tightly guarded. They need players to help Durant get open.

Ellington, a respected three-point shooter, would do that. His presence would immediately make a huge impact whereas Iggy’s yet to really put his stamp on the season. Iggy’s been playing a role he’s not used to, and the little impact he has comes from the defensive end.

Struggling to spread the court, Iggy’s veteran leadership would be better served on the Heat. While not on the market, Iggy’s play has been far below the Warriors lofty standards. That said, might as well get a pick and contributor for the 34-year-old.

Also, the cap relief would be ideal for Golden State.

These five trades are a longshot to happen, but each of them could completely change the dynamic of Golden State’s second unit.
