Golden State Warriors: Proposing five hypothetical trades involving Kevin Durant
Let’s assume the Golden State Warriors reach a breaking point. Then, and only then, might they consider trading Kevin Durant. Here are five potential deals.
As many know, the Golden State Warriors neared a breaking point as the Draymond Green and Kevin Durant’s altercation found its way to the locker room following an overtime loss to LA a few weeks ago. Without their leader Stephen Curry, the heated situation took a turn for the worst.
This is the same situation that could ultimately be the culprit behind Durant’s exodus this summer. If the Warriors are confident they can win without the four-time scoring champ and former MVP, they might as well trade him.
That’s still assuming that the relationship within the locker, one reporters and analysts more than likely don’t know the state of, is still as tense as ever. Green was given time off to nurse a toe injury which came at quite an ironic time just two games following his altercation with Durant.
Without Stephen Curry, it’s been Kevin Durant who has taken over as leader of the Warriors. He’s averaging 28.2 points per game, the most in his time in the Bay. On top of that, Durant is dishing out a career-high 6.0 assists per game.
However, if Curry returns during this upcoming road trip, the attention may return to the league’s only unanimous MVP. And, if the Dubs string off multiple wins in a row yet still have a toxic locker room, could they wind up trading Durant?
It more than likely won’t happen, but assuming he could be on the market, let’s dive into a few hypothetical trades.
