Golden State Warriors: Proposing five hypothetical trades involving Kevin Durant
Los Angeles Clippers
More picks will be heading Golden State’s way in the only trade that will keep Kevin Durant in the Western Conference. Given the unlikely success of the Clippers, this trade might take them dropping in the rankings a bit to even be considered.
Two first-round picks would again be tagged along with Tobias Harris and provide a similar dilemma to the Nets’ one listed above.
Like the New York area, Durant has also been linked to a team in LA. That team, however, is the Lakers. With the Clippers, Durant would be given the keys to the ignition. He’d finally be his own star in one of the world’s most renown cities.
For Golden State, they’d easily retain the title of the league’s best team. Tobias Harris is no toss-in player. He’s a legit star and in the middle of one of his best professional seasons. Averaging 21.5 points per game on over 50% from the field, Harris has exceeded expectations.
That said, LA has never been the Clippers city. They need to claim a spot at the winner’s table and find a way to attract a superstar. Kevin Durant, if the Warriors’ situation reaches that breaking point, could be that star to take their team to the next level.
