New York Knicks
The Knicks are already heading down the recruiting path for Kevin Durant. They put his picture on a banner and even gave him MVP chants the lone time the Dubs visited the Garden this season.
That said, the Knicks are also one of the few teams that have the assets to get the star and not part with all their elite talent. They can do so by offering lottery pick and potential star Kevin Knox along with a sturdy center in Enes Kanter to help the Warriors continue to contend.
Kanter is averaging 15.2 points per game and would give the second unit a great backup power forward or center, assuming he starts with the second unit upon DeMarcus Cousins return. Shooting 53% from the field, Kanter could be a force for Golden State. He’s also averaging a career-high 2.2 assists per game.
For Knox, at just 19-years-old, he could benefit from joining a team of developmental experts. He’d be paired with players like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson who were both drafted and developed by Golden State.
While bringing in these two wouldn’t supplement Durant’s production, it would hopefully bring in enough to keep them atop the NBA talent-wise. My question is: Who wouldn’t do this trade?
