Unlike in year’s past, the Golden State Warriors are having issues winning on the road this season. Could this be an issue in the future?

The Golden State Warriors are still easily the NBA’s best team. At full strength, a place they’ve been at just a few games this season, they’re dynamic on both sides of the court. However, away from Oracle, that’s been a different story.

At Oracle, the Dubs are 11-2, second in the West to the Clippers who are 9-1 at home. But, on the road, the Dubs are just 7-7, a worse away record than the Sacramento Kings. While some struggles can be attributed to injury, not all can be.

Four of the Warriors losses on the road have been a five-point margin. Teams like Toronto scraped by with an overtime win over the uber-talented Warriors. Not a huge concern moving forward, it is uncharacteristic of the Dubs to drop games on the road.

Over the last few seasons, the Warriors have proven to be a goliath both at home and away. Let’s also take into consideration the games in which Stephen Curry is actually on the court. Of those games, the Dubs are 7-2 on the road, having yet to win a game away from Oracle without Curry.

While not a surprise, the Warriors shoot worse away from Oracle and their opponent’s shoot better at home. However, figures like that include some huge away blowout victories that minimize the damage a near 30-point away loss to Houston has on the numbers.

Last season, the Dubs were 29-12 on the road, averaging over 120 points per game in victory and under 100 points in losses. Similar to the numbers this season, the Warriors have just not found a good groove, and most of their poor shooting nights find a way to happen away from Oracle.

Much of their struggle can be brought back to Curry already missing over ten games this season. Along with Draymond Green missing a few weeks and an array of other injuries, the Warriors, once at full strength, should easily quite those that doubt them.

In the Bay, there’s nothing to fear. The Warriors do, however, have a huge battle against the Raptors on Wednesday. Luckily enough, it’s in Oracle.
