If Stephen Curry gets involved in the offense more often, both Curry and the Golden State Warriors typically are better.

Just a few games back from a groin injury, let’s take a look at how Stephen Curry has impacted the Golden State Warriors offense this season.

For starters, one blanket statement continues to stand the test of time. That is: When Stephen Curry is more involved in the offense, the Golden State Warriors are better. This can clearly be seen this season.

The Warriors are 8-2 when Curry shots at least 20 shots. They’re a resounding 9-1 when he hoists up at least ten threes. Lastly, the Warriors on 7-1 when Curry scores at least 30 points.

While they’re still dynamic without the superstar, the team is on a different level with him on the court. Keeping him on the court is another issue though. Of the Dubs 29 games, Curry has already missed 11.

It’s tough to gauge just how imperative Curry is to the offense. The numbers say that he’s easily the Warriors most important player, and there could be an array of reasons behind why.

His shooting spreads the floor and the distraction and attention he causes opposing defense is just as imperative as his actual shooting. Potentially being the first player ever in the 50/50/90 club could be another reason it’s crucial to get Curry involved.

Averaging a career-high 32.3 points per 36 minutes, as he’s aged, Curry has become more efficient while being able to reduce his minutes. However, this season, the Dubs have been far from dominant in most of their performances.

They have six victories of 20 or more points and five of those have come in the 18 games which Curry has played. While it’s hard to completely quantify how important he is to the offense, it’s clear that with him they’re a more free-flowing, effective team.

Now, Curry must stay on the court. From groin injuries to ankle injuries, Curry has struggled to be that reliable force for Golden State. However, superstar players getting injured has been a trend over the last few seasons, so let’s just pray that he can maintain the health he currently has.
