The Golden State Warriors have two of the best offensive weapons in the league with Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, but who is the most deadly?

Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry are no strangers to dropping buckets. The offensive contributions from both of these players have helped propel the Golden State Warriors to one of the greatest offenses in league history.

With both KD and Curry on the team, the Dubs have the luxury of picking and choosing which player takes the spotlight each night. But, which player is the most effective? Or, in other terms, which one brings the team the most success when they are scoring at a high rate?

Most would assume that Durant is the better offensive player of the two. KD is capable of doing pretty much everything that Curry can do. The only difference being a massive size advantage for Durant. KD is six inches taller than Curry and his wingspan is over a foot longer than Steph’s.

Despite the size differences, Durant and Curry are averaging very similar numbers. For the season, Curry is averaging 29.3 points and 5.7 assists per game, while Kevin is putting up 29.0 points and 6.2 assists a night.

Where Steph takes an advantage is his efficiency. Curry’s true shooting percentage for the season stands at 67.8 percent while Durant is at 62.7 percent. Steph is a much better 3-point shooter, shooting almost 13 percent better from deep than KD.

The numbers continue to favor Curry when we look at the team’s success. Over the last two seasons, the Warriors hold a strong 13-1 record when Steph scores 35+ points. In contrast, the team is just 9-6 when Durant scores above the 35 point mark.

The Warriors have managed to feed off of Curry’s big scoring nights more than any other players. When Steph is at his best, so is the rest of the team. This is one of the main reasons Durant decided to join the team in the first place.

Curry might be the better offensive weapon, but as a duo, Durant and Curry might be the best offensive team of all-time. KD and Steph are currently combining for 58.3 points per game, which is the highest combined mark of any players since the 1961-62 season when Wilt Chamberlain and Paul Arizin combined for 72.3 points a night.

The thing that sets the Dubs duo apart from everyone else is the fact that their production is nearly identical. The dynamic between these two is very balanced, with no one player carrying too much of the load. As a result, they have created the most efficient and deadly offense in NBA history.
