3. Damian Lillard

Last season, Damian Lillard was named to the All-NBA First-Team for the first time in his career. The three-time All-Star had been playing in the shadow of many great players for years, but now, he is finally receiving the shine he deserves.

In many ways, Lillard’s game is similar to Curry’s. Lillard will pull a shot from anywhere on the court, drilling shots from way beyond the arc. Dame has made the second most 3-pointers (17) from 28+ feet this season, behind only Curry (24).

Lillard uses his range to open up the floor for the rest of his team. He understands that his threat as a 3-point shooter will help him to find teammates as well as drive to the hoop. As a result, Dame averages 6.0 assists per game and is an electric finisher around the rim.

Dame’s game is shaped by his 3-point shooting. The fact that he can attract defenders to the depths of the 3-point line allows him to be as deadly as he is on the floor. The types of shots that Lillard attempts would be frowned upon, had Curry not paved the way for this style of play.
