The ten-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony tweeted at Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. He seemingly wants to join the Golden State Warriors.

Does this come as a shocker though? Who doesn’t want to join the Golden State Warriors, winners of the last two straight NBA Finals?

Carmelo Anthony’s want to join Golden State isn’t too shocking. At the same time, the former scoring champion was subtle about it, tweeting and then a deleting a tweet that said “Leggo” and then tagged Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

However, the Dubs’ superstars weren’t the only players Melo reached out to. He also gave a tweet, also deleted, to LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward. It’s still unknown if either of these teams have any interest in Melo.

Melo isn’t exactly the same player he was a decade ago. After 14 straight seasons over score 20+ points, father time, something no one thinks will ever catch LeBron James, has taken over Melo. His athleticism is just not the same and that hurts his isolation scoring, his primary way of scoring.

Melo went from the Thunder, the Hawks for a brief day or say, and then to the Rockets, where he played a brief ten games, starting two. In his short stint, he averaged 13.4 points yet was largely blamed for the Rockets poor start the season, resulting from far below average shooting.

A gifted scorer but never a supremely efficient one, Melo is, out of technicality, still on the Rockets. However, he could be waived or traded for at any time, given his current. The Rockets aren’t playing Melo and it seems like his talent is just waiting for a trade to happen.

On Golden State, Melo would the team’s main scoring option off the bench. They have one of the league’s worst scoring second units. However, they have no need to score when the starters, led by two of the league’s most elite scoring threat, handle that.

Next. Warriors: Steph Curry should be second in the MVP race. dark

Moving forward, it’ll be interesting to see if the Dubs reach out about Melo, especially since they have an open roster spot.
