The Golden State Warriors vs LA Lakers was the matchup everyone was waiting for, and to be fair, it somewhat disappointed fans of all sorts.

When LeBron James signed with the Lakers we knew that we’d get LeBron James vs the Golden State Warriors four times this year. The NBA made the first game on Christmas Day.

This is what I saw in part 1/4.

1. Draymond needs to shoot the ball

Coming into tonight’s game, Draymond Green is shooting the ball at 41%. And from beyond the arc just a minuscule 23%.

In the game, he went 2/7 from the field and 0/3 from 3. He needs to be the player he was before in the 2014-15 season Green shot over 38% from downtown, he then shot 30% in the following two seasons.

On a team full of shooters, we know he’s not the best one, but he would make the ones when they were needed. It also hurts the rest of the team because the defense is playing so far off that even if Draymond drives it’s harder for him to get them on his hip so he can be a playmaker.

Hopefully, DeMarcus Cousins doesn’t suffer the same shooting slump when he returns.2. Klay Thompson needs to take smarter shots

2. Klay needs to take better shots

At the start of the game, Klay Thomspon took two erratic shots that we are used to seeing him take. The only problem is that he’s not making them like he’s used to.

When Klay starts the game with an easy jumper or layup, he seems to grow into the game easier thus causing more production. But when he starts the game with a bad shot, his production seems to go down. Klay on the day had 5 points on 2/7 shooting.

Yes, you read that right. KLAY THOMPSON AND DRAYMOND GREEN SHOT THE SAME IN AN ENTIRE GAME!

3. We need Boogie

Looney has been good this season. He’s been playing his role and doing a fine job at it, but Cousins wouldn’t have allowed Ivica Zubac to go 9/10 with 18 points. This also allows us to play with rotations more.

LeBron can be a roamer on defense when the Hampton 5 is on the court because he will guard Dray.

But if we replace him with Boogie, he won’t be able to do as much roaming, which allows us to open the playbook up more. We will also have a true big man on the floor for the first time since Andrew Bogut and a scoring big man for the first time in the Kerr era.

Moving forward, the Golden State Warriors must be better.
