In one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the season, the Golden State Warriors fell to the new-look Los Angeles Lakers 127-101.
The Golden State Warriors were embarrassed at Oracle Arena as the LeBron James-led Lakers crushed them by 26 points in the team’s first matchup this season.
The squad struggled on the offensive end of the floor. They shot 40.9 percent from the field and 25 percent from three-point range. This is very un-Warrior like.
Andre Iguodala was the leading scorer with 23 points, five rebounds and four assists off the bench. This was the fourth time Iguodala scored in double figures this season and the most he’s scored in a single game this season as well.
Once Lakers forward LeBron James left the game with a groin injury, the team did go on a run that would cut the 19-point deficit to only two points. But, in the end, the Lakers would prevail.
With the loss against the Lakers last night, this snaps a seven-game winning streak against the Lakers. The Warriors also had an 11-game home winning streak against the Lakers, with the Lakers’ last win at Oracle Arena back on December 22, 2012.
