Draymond Green has been a crucial member of each of the Golden State Warriors championship runs, but is it time for the team to consider parting ways with Green?

A few years ago, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors was regarded as an elite power forward with perhaps the most versatile defensive skillset of all-time. His talent on defense and playmaking ability on offense made him a top tier player. Now, Green appears to be a shell of his former self.

Green became valuable by being a swiss-army knife on the court. He could defend every position and score in multiple ways. Dray helped spread the floor with consistent 3-point shooting and was superb at creating plays for others.

This season, Green has taken a noticeable decline in every way. For starters, his shooting touch has completely disappeared. Dray is currently shooting 22.4 percent from the 3-point line and is averaging just 7.2 points per game.

His lack of shooting has taken a huge toll on the team. Opponents have been sagging off of Green and daring him to shoot. Dray has failed to make opposing teams pay for this strategy and as a result, the Warriors offense has had to work even harder to get good looks.

To make matters worse, Draymond hasn’t been very good at scoring in the paint either. Green is shooting just 28.0 percent from the 3-10 foot range. This makes it even more difficult for the Dubs to start clicking on offense.

Meanwhile, his defense has not been as effective as in the past. He currently has the lowest defensive win shares of his entire career at just 1.0. Green also has the 57th worst Defensive Rating of any starter in the league with a rating of 102.5.

His value on the court has been decreasing steadily. Green has not been playing at an elite level on either end of the floor and he is slowly becoming a detriment. Dray is set to make over 18 million dollars next season, so is it time for the Dubs to trade him while they still can?
