Golden State Warriors: 5 reasons the Dubs should consider trading Draymond Green
Cousins’ return could render him useless
When DeMarcus Cousins returns, Draymond Green’s use will not be needed. Cousins will be strictly a three-point threat, and he could be a key distributor on the offensive end. Many forget Cousins averaged over five assists per game last season.
While Green has put together multiple seasons of 7+ assists per game, he doesn’t have next level vision. His willingness to pass over finish or shoot is what’s made him the perfect addition to the Warriors.
Cousins could be that same player.
Cousins has the perfect understanding of the game, and he’s just as willing to pass if it’s the right play. While in Sacramento, Cousins consistently averaged around three assists per game. In New Orleans, it skyrocketed to 5.4 per game because of his teammates and their style.
In Golden State, he can raise those to Green-esque numbers. If Cousins does replace Green’s spot as the offensive distributor then where does Green go? He’d be replaced by someone that can actually space the floor like Andre Iguodala or Quinn Cook.
Cousins’ return will have quite the impact on the Golden State Warriors rotation.
