Golden State Warriors: 5 reasons the Dubs should consider trading Draymond Green
His poor play is consistent
Green’s poor play against the LA Lakers isn’t his only concerning outing of the season. Against the Kawhi-less Raptors a few weeks ago, Green chipped in just two points and seven assists en route to a 20-point loss.
When Green notches at least ten points, the Dubs are 5-0. His offense is the key to the Warriors offense as a whole. While Green might not determine how well Curry and other’s shoot, his play does free up lanes that aren’t there when he’s off.
This season, it’s been consistently poor, and that’s a problem. Overall, he’s averaging 7.3 points per game and shooting just over 40%. The Dubs, as a team, are shooting almost 50%, the league’s best percentage.
Green has ten games in which he’s seen significant time and scored five points or less. That’s just unacceptable from a player that once was averaging 14 per game. If his play doesn’t pick up, the Warriors should be concerned enough to quietly start shipping him.
The only other question is: What is Green’s worth?
