2. Atlanta Hawks

There is something very interesting going on with the Atlanta Hawks currently. By drafting Trae Young, the Hawks look as if they are attempting to replicate the magic that the Golden State Warriors created with Stephen Curry.

Young has clearly taken direct inspiration from Curry’s game. Trae shoots the 3-pointer at a rate that is unprecedented for an NBA rookie and his playmaking ability matches that of the best in the league. Right now, Young is averaging 15.5 points and 7.2 assists per game.

The biggest problem for Trae is that he doesn’t have much talent around him to help carry the load. Opposing defenses are able to focus in on him and gameplan to shut him down. As a result, he has had to work double-time in every game just to get himself going.

If Draymond Green was a member of this team, things would open up for Young and the rest of the Hawks. Green made a living off of creating plays and setting screens for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. All Dray would have to do in Atlanta is recreate the system in Golden State.

Of course, recreating that system is insanely difficult. It takes truly special players to pull off what the Warriors have been doing. With this being said, there is nothing stopping the Hawks from attempting to start their own dynasty with their own set of players.
