The Golden State Warriors clearly need something to change before the playoffs begin. Trading for Anthony Davis could be the catalyst they need to turn this season around.

It has been an unusual season for the Golden State Warriors. With a 25-and-13 record, the Warriors are off to their worst start since the 2013-14 NBA season. While they still have a great core, trading for Anthony Davis might be the key to saving their season.

The team’s problems have ranged from injuries to locker room beef. Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have been the only two bright spots, as usual sharpshooter Klay Thompson has been wildly inconsistent.

Meanwhile, Draymond Green is arguably having the worst season of his career (as a starter). Dray is currently averaging just 7.3 points per game on a woeful 24.6 percent shooting from the field. His impact on the defensive end has been minimal as the Warriors defense, in general, has been worse than usual.

With all of these problems being noted, it’s clear that bringing in Anthony Davis would almost certainly clean up all of these issues. Davis is a two-way monster of a player who is averaging 27.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.7 steals a game.

Davis’ impact on defense would be almost instant as he is averaging nearly triple the amount of blocks as the Warriors currently leader (Kevin Durant and Daman Jones are tied with 1.0 a game). He is as versatile as they come and would fit seamlessly into the lineup.

Reuiniting Davis and DeMarcus Cousins would also be a great sight. These two front-court All-Stars dominated with the New Orleans Pelicans and became a nightmare for opposing teams. However, with the Warriors, Davis and Cousins would be playing with something they have never had before.

Because of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, the team’s spacing are phenomenal. This means that Davis and Cousins would have a field day in the painted area. Not to mention the fact that both of them are capable shooters.

If the Warriors managed to trade for Anthony Davis, there is no doubt in my mind that they would end this season as champions. Therefore, this is a move they should pursue aggressively.
