After not matching Patrick McCaw’s offer sheet, the Golden State Warriors’ 15th roster spot is up for grabs.

The Golden State Warriors love having the roster flexibility to snag any available player on the market. That market might be dry now, but as the season gets just over halfway finished in the next few weeks, the buyout market might start heating up.

Last season, players like Joe Johnson and Gerald Green made their presence felt on the Houston Rockets. This season, it could be a player that joins the championship-caliber Warriors and reduces their numerous flaws.

Numerous seems a bit harsh. The Warriors clearly do lack a few areas of interest. Bench production and a defensive-minded big man should both be at the top of the Warriors’ shortlist of areas to improve in.

The Warriors, in back-to-back games, were dominated by Ivan Zubac and Jusuf Nurkic. One went 9-for-10 from the field while the other dropped 27 points. Along with an inability to stop big men, the Warriors have a bottom-five scoring bench.

Both of those could potentially be improved through a free agency signing. That said, let’s dive into five players that could improve the Warriors’ not-so-deep roster.
