The Golden State Warriors made it a mission to go younger with their roster starting this season. Let’s take a look at how it has played out so far.

The Golden State Warriors have hoisted the championship trophy three times in the past four seasons, but without a doubt, there is always room for a franchise to improve year after year. The Warriors understand this, and its the reason why they’ve been one of the top-tier elite franchises the past few seasons.

Golden State prides itself on its depth, but they came into the 2018 season dead-set on a goal: to get younger with their bench. As they’ve witnessed the other 29 teams get better and become focused on dethroning the champs, the Warriors decided to let the likes of David West, JaVale McGee, Zaza Pachulia and others walk in order to give their younger role players valuable minutes to develop.

It was a sound decision and probably the correct choice given that their core four all-stars are getting older,  but so far the youth movement has had mixed results to say the least.

Let’s take a look at a few key pieces of the Warriors youth movement, and assess how they’ve fared so far to date.
