Trade No. 7

If this happened, the Golden State Warriors would be on another planet with their level of talent. At the same time, New Orleans would be loaded and basically do what the Boston Celtics did to the Brooklyn Nets in capturing several of their future draft picks.

There’s not much hope left in this season for New Orleans. They sit 14th in the West and have looked terrible at times. Although loaded with talent, their team hasn’t put it together against more difficult Western Conference talent.

They would, however, still have Jrue Holiday leading the charge. Holiday would get two trusted veterans. On top of that, the Pelicans would be able to sign potentially multiple max free agents in the 2020 offseason.

Also, who knows how long the Warriors’ dynasty might last. Four years from now, most of their core will be well into their 30s. If you take that chance and the Warriors start to regress in the next few seasons, those picks could set up New Orleans well for the distant future.

For Golden State, at this point, you do whatever it takes to bring Davis to the Bay, outside of trading either Durant or Stephen Curry. This trade isn’t gifting New Orleans too much young talent or current superstar talent which makes it the most unlikely of the seven.
