Trade No. 3

This is certainly the most likely trade.

With it being a three-team trade, let’s again break it down team by team. For starters, the Golden State Warriors do it because they retain KD and Curry while being able to snag the league’s best center.

The Pelicans do this trade because they get a few valuable picks, a talented guard and potentially a superstar center. Cousins could return at full strength, and if he does, New Orleans could offer him a max contract during the offseason.

They’d also get Malik Monk, a second-year stud from the University of Kentucky. After averaging just 6.7 points per game his rookie season, Monk has jumped to over 10 per game this season. Along with increasing his efficiency, Monk has seen upticks at every major statistical category.

As for Charlotte, Kemba Walker is in the last year of his contract. He’s averaging a career-high 25.8 points per game and has the Hornets in playoffs contention for the first time in a few seasons. He needs help to take them to the next level.

Klay Thompson would do that. Charlotte commits highway robbery in this deal, and even if Thompson dips after one season, it’s almost still worth it. This deal is something all teams should at least consider.
