The first fan voting results are in, and DeMarcus Cousins, who hasn’t played a game this season, has more votes than Celtics’ center Al Horford.

With just over 95,000 votes, DeMarcus Cousins came in 10th place in the Western Conference’s frontcourt voting. He was just a few thousand over Horford, who came in 10th place in the Eastern Conference’s frontcourt voting.

The only difference?

Boogie Cousins has yet to step foot on the court during an actual game. On the other hand, Horford is considered to two one of the better two-way bigs in the game. His skill set is often times underrated, but he is imperative for success in Boston.

Cousins, by dunking on Durant in practice, continues to increase the hype surrounding his return. He’s reportedly targeting a February comeback which should be one of the most exciting parts of the season for Golden State fans.

However, that doesn’t mean that the former superstar deserves All-Star votes. At the same time, Luka Doncic received more votes than Kevin Durant who has clearly been the better player this season.

It’s all about the fans, and Cousins has those.

Last season, he was absolutely dominant. Cousins consistently put up a stat line never before seen in the NBA. He averaged over 25 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.5 blocks and 2.0 threes per game. It’s a lengthy line, but it’s arguably the league’s most impressive.

Those fans that jumped on his bandwagon last season made their way to Golden State. Now, they’ll have to wait just a few months to see how his Achilles rupture will impact his play.

Regardless of what Boogie did or how well he does, those that consider themselves Celtics’ fans should be ashamed that Cousins was able to snag more votes than Horford. The beating heart of the Celtics defense, Horford needs more respect around the league and more love in the Northeast.

In the end, it’s pretty awesome for Cousins and his supportive fan base to see him in the top 10 in voting.
