Dewayne Dedmon

One of the most underrated centers the Warriors could snag, Dewayne Dedmon, has been seeing fewer minutes this season than last. The main cause behind that is the increasing development of John Collins, the Atlanta Hawks 2017 first-round selection.

That doesn’t mean that Dedmon hasn’t produced though. On the East’s third-worst team, Dedmon is averaging 9.4 points per game.

Shooting 46.8% from deep, Dedmond’s decrease in shooting can directly be attributed to his newly-developed three-point shot. If consistently hit, it can bring a new dimension to his game. However, the Dubs would ultimately get Dedmon to protect the rim, not score.

This season, he’s averaging a career-high 1.0 blocks per game and a career-high 1.1 steals per game. His 1.7 defensive plus/minus is the second-highest of his career, only behind his sole season in San Antonio.

Ultimately, the seven-footer presents an interesting trade target. With $7.2 million left on his expiring contract, Dedmon could see some interest prior to the February 7 trade deadline. He could also be a top buyout candidate which would be the most ideal situation for Golden State.
