The Washington side of the deal

A team in flux, the Washington Wizards have had quite the storylines around them this season. From Dwight Howard‘s issues to John Wall‘s season-ending injuries, Washington has been led by Bradley Beal, and it doesn’t seem the star is content in Washington.

Although no reports have surfaced, trading Beal away for Klay Thompson and Dion Waiters seems like an adequate return for Beal. Thompson is a four-time All-Star and Waiters is a flashy, gritty scoring option.

Thompson would have to commit though.

If the Wizards think they’re dealing away Beal for a half-season rental of Thompson, they certainly wouldn’t want this deal. However, if both Waiters and Thompson stay long-term, this would be a win for Washington to, potentially saving face for their franchise.

With John Wall in his prime still, the Wizards championship window is closing. Thompson seems like the perfect player, a high-volume sniper, to run the court with Wall, a high-pace, athletic point guard.

Snagging two athletic shooters, the Wizards have been known to dish players that still have potential i.e. Kelly Oubre Jr. This deal shouldn’t be declined because of how the Wizards view their load.
