The return of DeMarcus Cousins is t-minus 10 days away. Jan. 18 is the set date for him to hit the court for the Golden State Warriors.

Dub Nation, let’s get excited.

The Golden State Warriors will return superstar DeMarcus Cousins in under ten days. Per Chris Haynes, the January 18 set date is a road game against the Los Angeles Clippers, although Boogie was thought to return against his former Pelicans on January 16.

Either way, it’s an exciting time for the Warriors as the star center was rumored late last year to be returning in February, not January. Regardless of when Cousins’ returns, all we do know is that the fans will be ready.

It’ll be interesting to see at what percentage Boogie returns to. The 6-foot-11 center may truly never be at 100% since his ruptured Achilles, but if he can get to 90%, he should be just as dominant as he was prior to his career-altering injury.

Before his injury, Cousins was playing elite-level basketball. He was averaging a stat line that was never before seen in the NBA. That consisted of averaging over 25 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 threes, 1.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals. Those numbers, for a center, are insane.

What seemed even more insane is when Dub Nation received the news that the star was signing a one-year deal with Golden State, worth about five million. At a time when Golden State could offer virtually no money, Cousins still sought the champions, understanding they were his best shot at success.

Not rushed to be on the court, Cousins will have been sidelined for almost an entire year.

That said, Golden State was one of a few teams with an excellent medical staff along with the ability to allow Boogie a full recovery, not bringing him back till he’s ready to play at the highest level.

Now is the time.

Against a playoff-contending Western Conference team, we’ll see Boogie return and hopefully be in full force.

That said, let’s hope we see the Boogie of old return for Golden State.
