Kevin Durant may end up in the Big Apple, but the recent rumblings of him having interest in the New York Knicks are not true.

Playing one of his best seasons, Kevin Durant is planning to become a free agent this upcoming offseason. With that tag comes rumors, and lots of them. Durant recently shut down the most recent rumor of him having interest in New York, according to the Mercy News.

"“I have no clue where that stuff comes from. I just focus on playing ball every single day,” Durant said following morning shootaround on Tuesday. “I can’t control what people say about me, about my future or what I should do. I just try to come to work every single day. Life will figure itself out for me.”"

Durant hasn’t been very open about where he’ll be playing next season. Many believe if the Warriors three-peat that he’ll stay in the Bay although being able to make more money elsewhere.  As of now, it’s anyone’s guess though.

Scoring 28.5 points per game and shooting over 50% from the field for his seven consecutive seasons, Durant is at the top of his game. Being one of the top-three players in the NBA, Durant will draw interest from every team able to offer the four-time scoring champion a max contract.

Brooklyn, New York and Los Angeles all seem like options that could be at the top of Durant’s list. However, most of what Durant does this offseason may be a product of how the remainder of his season plays out.

After beating the New York Knicks last night, the Warriors, at 27-14, are second in the Western Conference. In a competitive conference, the Warriors haven’t been where they truly want to be, at the top.

They haven’t played their best basketball yet and need to continue to improve their lineups, chemistry and rotations. Although Durant is having an MVP-caliber season, the Warriors haven’t won many games in the national spotlight, most recently losing to the Rockets and Lakers on national television.

That to say, the Golden State Warriors are a long way from a three-peat, and for the sake of retaining Kevin Durant, they better hope they’re able to get this done and done without too many altercations.
