The Golden State Warriors have been missing the consistent shooting of Draymond Green. But, how bad has he actually been from beyond the arc this year?

Draymond Green is having one of the worst shooting seasons of his career. His lack of consistency from the 3-point line has hurt the Golden State Warriors and made it difficult to play him throughout the game.

The Warriors really need Green to hit from deep or else the entire offense suffers. Opposing teams are able to defend the Warriors 5-on-4 as they completely ignore Draymond because he isn’t a threat to score from beyond the 3-point line.

Green has been left wide open on multiple occasions and more often than not he will choose to pass the ball rather than attempt the shot. This halts the entire offense of the Golden State Warriors as what was once a great opportunity to shoot is now just another pass in the system.

To put Green’s shooting numbers into perspective, it is almost more likely for Gregg Popovich to win a championship than it is for Green to make a 3-pointer. In his 21 seasons as head coach for the San Antonio Spurs, Popovich has won five NBA championships. This means Pop has won a title in 23.8 percent of his seasons.

Meanwhile, Green is shooting the second worst percentage of his seven-season career at 24.2 percent from the 3-point line. This shooting is extremely poor and is very questionable coming from a player who was hitting 38.8 percent of his attempts only a few years ago.

Draymond has been woeful on the court and he has even acknowledged it on multiple occasions. His jump shot is something that will absolutely need to be improved if he wants to give the Warriors their best chance at winning this year.

The Dubs rely on spacing the floor to create offense for everybody. Hopefully, Green will hit his stride at exactly the right time and help Golden State dominate the league once again.
