7. San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs have somehow managed to remain relevant even after the Kawhi Leonard fall out. Leonard was expected to carry the torch after the retirement of Tim Duncan.

Once Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili parted ways with the team, it seemed as if Leonard was their last hope. When Leonard demanded to the trade that eventually found him in Toronto, many assumed the Spurs run was over.

Well, after 42 games, the Spurs stand in seventh place in the Western Conference and show no signs of backing down. Even with the loss of their rising star Dejounte Murray, the Spurs have been resilient in their efforts to win games.

This is a huge credit to their coaching staff and organization as a whole. Every player on the roster has bought into the culture and is invested in building a championship team. However, DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldrige will not be enough to win another title in San Antonio.

If Kevin Durant signed with the Spurs, they would immediately return to their former elite level. Durant would thrive under Gregg Popovich and likely become a better player because of it.
