Green to New Orleans- Part 3

When the Dubs send away a star, they’ll want a star in return or at least that is the goal of any transaction for Golden State. While Anthony Davis might be a long shot to reel in, it’d be worth a try. Davis, much like Durant, is in a league of his own.

His numbers back him up as one of the best offensive and defensive players in the NBA. His ability to play both sides of the floor, much like Green, has him coveted by almost every team in the association.

With that skill set comes a high asking price. Green, two first-round picks and a veteran point in Shaun Livingston is a big load for Davis, but the Pelicans could ask for even more. In the end, the Warriors, without trading Durant or Curry, may not have the assets to snag AD.

If they do, a deal like this would be worth trying.

For New Orleans, it brings defense, a solid leader and a continued playoff mindset. While AD’s absence would be brutal, the addition of Green would help ease the blow. With two first-round picks in addition to that, the Pelicans would also be setting themselves up for the distant future.

Eventually, the Pelicans are going to have to do something with Davis, whether it be to trade him or watch him leave. Might as well get peak return for his lofty value.
